Settling in.

It is official, I am in my first house! It has been such a crazy whirlwind of emotions..but in the end it has really paid off. I love everything about it! We are still settling in, unpacking the numerous boxes, and deciding where each piece of art and furniture shall go. I love to look out of my bedroom window, and see the cute neighborhood. I never thought that waking up to the sound of birds chirping, could be so wonderful. I am very excited to begin this new chapter in my life.

Hearts.

I was browsing the Williams-Sonoma website, and I came across these little beauties. I think they are so elegant. I am normally not a huge fan of all the hype about Valentine's Day, but these cookies make me smile. I would love to receive these cookies any day of the year.

Confidential

This is the version of Caprese Salad that I had at Confidential. The Heirloom tomatoes made this simple dish, just that much more colorful and gratifying. Each time that I have been to this restaurant, I have left satisfied. I was said to hear that Chef Richard Sweeney had left earlier in the year, but I hope to hear more about him in the near future. Thank you Confidential for great wine and exquisite dishes.

It Has Been Awhile.

It has been a couple of months. It has been crazy with the holidays, and the new year..but I am back. There are a couple more things going on, but I will share once everything is for sure. I found these photos that I had taken a little while ago, and I simply forgot about them. These two dishes were so simple, yet so incredibly delicious.

The salad is made up of Radicchio, Bell Peppers, and Fennel. I topped it with a light vinaigrette. It is so crisp and fresh, perfect for a spring or summer side dish.

The Caramelized onion tarte is made up of caramelized onions, and store bought puff pastry. Although I would love to make my own puff pastry, during the week, store bought is just so much easier. The onions have the rich flavor of french onion soup, but the delicate flaky crust gives it a lighter touch.
